The BBC Gardener’s World Live show is held annually at the Birmingham NEC and the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies stand caught the eye with a stunning display of golden shades to celebrate their 50th Anniversary.
A long runway of wooden decking ending in a pillar mounted cascade of golden flowers was flanked on either side with obelisks and floor arrangements of yellow roses and oriental lilies with dark orange calla lilies reaching through the wrought iron like exploding fireworks.
This beautiful repeat flowering floribunda is golden in colour with a gentle scent and glossy green foliage.
A little further along the main hall, NAFAS had also produced a stunning display in shades of yellow and blue to raise awareness of AMD (Age Related Macular Degeneration).
The central arrangement dominated by yellow oriental and calla lilies interspersed with cobalt blue spires of delphinium stood tall on a moss covered column whilst below sat interlinked moss covered hoops, bearing simple but striking displays of bright yellow sun flowers and calla lilies contrasted elegantly with blue eryingium.
Again, the usual hard work and skillful craftsmanship of the NAFAS arrangers worked a treat.
